About Us

Join us to change the world of wine! Labrador Omnimedia is an early stage company revolutionizing how diners learn about, buy and share wines. Our customer facing iPad App, Tastevin, provides a rich, multi-media experience for exploring wines on a restaurant wine list. Behind the scenes, we work with restaurants, wholesalers and wineries, providing value to each player in the supply chain. Founded by successful wine industry veterans, we leverage a rich set of industry connections.

iOS Developer

Labrador is hiring an iOS developer to help us continue to re-invent alcoholic beverage sales.

The wine, beer and spirits industry is one of the most highly regulated and opaque in America. Innovation in this area takes more than good technology - it takes an incredible amount of domain expertise. Luckily we have both, and we are looking to add to the team.

Labrador is the largest player in the digital beverage list market, with over 70 accounts in 11 states. Each of our over 1000 deployed iPads talks directly to our RoR portal every 3 minutes, allowing restaurant operators and alcoholic beverage suppliers the ability to update their lists and change their brand messaging instantly. What this means for restaurants is that they never have to apologize for a sold out beverage ever again. For suppliers, it is nothing short of a revolution: the ability to influence purchasing behavior right at the point of sale with customized copy, images and rich media and correlate it with sales. Bandit a/b testing to optimize that messaging? Check. A vast network of POS integrations? Got that too.

If you've ever tried to integrate with all the various POS providers (Micros, Aloha, InfoGenesis, Digital Dining, PosiTouch, Squirrel, etc.) you know the hurdles, the costs, and you know the pain. We are preferred partners with all of the above and more, which gives us unmatched market penetration. It also means this is a solved problem you simply don't have to worry about.

We've been at this for nearly 2 years now, we're self-funded to the tune of multi-millions of dollars, and we are profitable.

We're looking for a full time iOS dev with good design sense to quickly begin to contribute and build on our foundation. Remote or local, it's your choice. Our entire team of 15 communicates hourly via Hipchat. Our code is on Github.

What you get:

  • Paid. Well.
  • Top tier medical.
  • 4 weeks of vacation a year. We shut down the company for two weeks around Christmas and New Year's. The other two weeks of vacation accrue over the course of the year and can be used as you see fit.
  • Flexibility. In many way this is one of top benefits of working at Labrador. We are an outcome based company. As such, if you need to be at your daughter's dance recital all afternoon, we're flexible. Hard work and maximal effort do lead to good outcomes, but one is not a necessary prerequisite for the other.
  • A culture that knows how to show appreciation. We all kick ass at what we do, and we know that a large part of the satisfaction derived from said ass kicking is in being recognized by your team members. From sales to customer experience to accounting to development, when you solve problems you'll get a chorus of "Thank yous" in our Hipchat rooms.
  • Access to co-founder's 1200 acre vineyards and winery for vacation/relaxation (Jordan Winery in Healdsburg CA).
  • Experience a unique brand of fun at our yearly conclave at said winery hangar and WWII museum (it's the best bar in Healdsburg). Have you ever driven a WWII command car through vineyard rows with a glass of Pliny the Elder in your hand? Legally?
